Distributed systems often claim to save our data durably, to provide isolated transactions, or to make writes visible to reads. In this talk, we'll discuss Jepsen: a tool for testing distributed systems safety under common failure modes, such as network partitions, process pauses, and clock skew. We'll explore recent results from testing three distributed systems. The results may surprise you!
